About Early Learners Children’s Academy

Early Learners Children’s Academy is a family-owned preschool and daycare that has cared for San Diego children since 1997, from six weeks old through pre-K, at our Mira Mesa and Old Town campuses.

From the start, our goal has been simple: high-quality care that families can trust, delivered by experienced teachers, an academically based curriculum, careful safety procedures and ongoing staff training.

Our mission

One of our earliest goals was to offer high-quality child care to families throughout San Diego. We still work to meet and exceed that goal for every family that trusts us with their children.

Respect every child

We respect each child’s individuality and help them learn to respect others through everyday social skills.

Learning at their own pace

Children explore their world as active, curious and creative learners, each developing at their own pace.

Confidence to choose

We encourage children to make choices, take healthy risks and share their ideas so they can reach their full potential.

A love of learning

We want school to be a happy place, where children build a real and lasting enthusiasm for learning.

Open communication

We stay in close touch with parents, so you always feel confident your child is safe with adults you trust.

Clear, gentle limits

Self-discipline grows from limits that are clearly explained, applied consistently and kept to a minimum.

Our philosophy

We believe every child can learn and grow in a nurturing, caring and safe environment that lets them make meaningful choices and become active learners.

Children are shaped by their home, their community and the people around them from a very early age. That is why every part of our program, full day or part day, is designed to support each child’s development in a safe, healthy place to play and learn.

What makes Early Learners different

Learning through play

A curriculum-based program that blends purposeful play with academic readiness, life skills and social-emotional growth.

Weekly classroom themes

New themes each week bring concepts to life through art, stories, music, movement and hands-on activities.

On-site field trips

Special guests and enrichment experiences come to our campuses, so children get the adventure without the bus ride.

Munchkin Town

Our Mira Mesa campus has its own indoor play town, with a diner, a market and a treehouse for pretend play.

Small, consistent classes

Four infants per teacher, eight to one for two-year-olds and twelve to one in preschool.

Teachers who stay

Our director has been with us for 13 years and our lead teacher for 12, so children see familiar faces every day.

The people behind the program

Great care depends on great teachers. Every teacher we hire has at least 12 Early Childhood Education units in child development and is CPR and First Aid certified, and our team brings patience, warmth and a positive attitude to every day.
